Splat Hair Color
Reviews and Complaints
Blue and purple
Got everywhere.
Used the midnight indigo or whatever it’s called.
Stained through the gloves, stained my tub and my walls.. I’ve tried everything to get it off and nothing works.
Got a good color though, too bad it’s just such a messy brand. :(
Fades too quickly and bleeds everywhere
Cleaning up Blue Hairdye ALL day!!!
All I wanted was to add a tint of blue to my hair. Everything went well until I got in the shower to rinse out my hair and my entire white shower got stained with blue.
The blue splattered all over the shower walls and it was so tough to get out, I had to use grill cleaner. I spent the entire day scrubbing the shower and sink to get the blue out. Also, my skin is completely stained, I have blue all over my face and my body. I have been dying my hair for several years and this has never happened before.
Whats worse? My hands turn blue every time I touch my hair and everything I touch turns blue.
This product is a never-ending mess and I will NOT be buying it again after spending my entire day off cleaning up blue. Worst experience I've ever had.
- Stain running after a weeks worth of washing
- Too messy
- How it stained my bathtub
Preferred solution: Full refund
Did not work!!

WORST HAIR DYE EVER!!!
This is the second time I have used splat hair dye and the second time was just as bad as the first. The first time I dyed my hair the raspberry red and after getting my hair professionally dyed and growing out my hair and continuously cutting it the red has always been in my hair and I can’t get rid of it.
When I dyed it the second time and used the bleach in the blue envy color kit it didn’t even bleach my hair but it sure did ruin it. My hair was the exact same color except for in a few spots the were really blonde and the rest was my normal hair color but my hair felt like straw even after using Wen deep conditioner and the Wen hair mask. It still felt terrible and then I went to a professional and had them bleach my hair it felt so much better and wasn’t splotchy and then when I put the blue in my hair it turned out purple on the ends and blue on my roots and a really light Baby blue in other spots it was the worst experience over ever had with splat. And I will never EVER be purchasing anything from this company EVER again.
And also this is very important!!!! WITH THIS HAIR DYE DO NOT USE COLOR REMOVER IT WILL MELT YOUR HAIR!!!!

Worse Experience Ever
Purchased and used the Midnight Amethyst Dye on Saturday. Although I basically obtained the color I was looking for, (only left it on for 25 minutes) because the dye began staining everything including my skin, the dye itself was not only extremely messy and runny, it dyed my scalp, leaving these horrible patches of purple on my crown, neck and on the right and left side of my scalp I could not get off.
It literally looked like someone took a purple crayon and scribbled on my head. I was mortified! Since Splat customer service was closed on Saturday's, I wound up making a few calls to hair salons and beauty supply stores for help, and my husband went to Sally Beauty supply and purchased Roux Clean Touch, which was the only product that actually helped get the purple stains off of my scalp and skin.
Splat hair Dye is definitely one product I would not recommend to others and I will NEVER purchase again.

Absolutely horrendous
Pissed off and chemically burned
This was the very first time I used splat hair color and not only did it go everywhere and mess everything up but I also ended with a very bad chemical burn to the back and front of my neck. I want something done about this and I wish to be contacted immediately about my incedent!!!!
I was told that this brand that I bought had no bleach in it and even my doctor is stumped as to how I ended up with chemical burn so bad. Please figure this out or my next call will be to my lawyer.
This should not have happened and I do not dye my hair often enough that this dye would bug me like this. Thank you
- Chemical burn on my neck
- Too messy
- Did not dye hair at all
SUCKS
Dont try this at home kids...
DONT DO IT

I use bleach, no problem. Gets it out everytime.
It was all over the sink and walls of my shower but I rinsed most of it off. I sprayed the shower with Clorox and water, about 1 part bleach to 2 parts water. Next morning it walls were clean.
I followed the sink with water and poured about 1Tbsp of Clorox in, left it and next morning, all clean. My sink is porcelain and my shower is marble which usually stains very easily, but bleach worked great to get both the blue and purple splat right out.
